A Russian man named Shakur from Nizhnekamsk pleaded with a judge to let his girlfriend free after she almost murdered him by stabbing him thirteen times in a dispute at their home a few days earlier.
Russian state prosecutor Airat Bikmurzin stated in court that Shakur narrowly escaped with his life after the savage knife attack.
Facing six years behind bars, the accused was being questioned by the judge when Shakur proposed to her right there. He then made an appeal to the judge for leniency stating they needed time to arrange a wedding date.
According to NTR-24 TV and The Daily Mail the judge delayed the decision on her sentencing stating the court would re-convene at a later date.
Mr Bikmurzin said:
‘The accused woman failed to fulfill her criminal intention due to circumstances she could hardly influence – the victim managed to escape from the crime scene and found medical help in time’.
After the stabbing, Shakur was in hospital for three weeks where he received treatment for stab wounds all over his body.
The Russian judge told the court: ‘Using the knife as a weapon, she stabbed the victim at least 13 times.’
The woman, whose identity has not been released to the press, denied she intended to kill her boyfriend and claims she was drunk at the time of the incident.
